I know with all these crazy winter storms it seems winter will never end. But as the Buddhas say "this too shall pass." Yep, winter's days are numbered (22 to be exact). The time is coming to wash ol' man winter and the gunk out of your hair, skin, body and mind. That's what we will be doing during my upcoming "Stress-Free Spring Detox" teleclass on Tuesday, March 16 from 7-8 p.m. On this call, you'll discover:
1. How to detox properly (most people do it wildly incorrectly)
2. What foods help set your body up for the fat burning season of Spring
3. Innovative recipes with a complete 5-day menu (can be shortened or extended based on your individual health goals) with gourmet recipes (sans a gourmet budget or cooking skills) from chef David Salvatore
4. What to add to your life during this time (yes, this detox is not about deprivation but rather adding in the great stuff your life needs)

One thing we will be discussing in the detox program is how to detox off your plate. This is just as important as what you are eating. What do I mean by detoxing off your plate? It's taking a break from habits that downgrade your health and replacing them with nourishing ones. My private clients find they love this part the most when they detox. For five, seven or however many days they choose to detox, they add in wonderful things like naps and baths that help their mind and spirit regenerate.
One important thing to add to any spring detox plan is dry scrubbing your skin with a dry washcloth or loofah. Our skin is our largest detoxifying organ and in winter, our skin gets overly suffocated. Therefore, it's important to get all those dead skin cells off your body so it can breathe!
Scrub your entire body with a dry washcloth or loofah before your next shower or bath. Pay special attention to the armpits and groin areas. This will help stimulate your lymphatic system which is another key area that's important to detox. Everyone has a wash cloth (at least I hope!) and can do this. No need to buy expensive detox gadgets or extreme equipment. Your body detoxes everyday. We just need to give it a gentle push when the seasons change.
To feeling fabulous this Spring,
Ali
P.S. I also have a 4-week "Calling a Truce With Food" group program starting April 6 at Eviama Spa. All the juicy details are here:

It's a great way to hit a big reset button from winter. The first five people to enroll will save $30 off the already valuable investment price of $129. A couple of those first come, first serve bonuses are already gone. If you want to finally feel a renewed relationship with food, your body and your life, don't delay. This is your chance to create a more adventurous life...where food is your fuel and not the misadventure that is keeping you gridlocked in the same sabotaging dieting routine.
